Mr. Phillips practiced in Southern California for several years, both with a small firm and as a sole practitioner, primarily in the areas of general civil litigation and personal injury. After moving to the Central Coast he joined the AV-rated firm of Borton, Petrini & Conron, where he specialized in insurance and casualty defense, eventually becoming a Partner.

He then left to found the firm now known as Phillips & Associates, which first took form in 1992.  He was the founding partner and continues to retain full responsibility for supervising both the substantive legal practice, as well as administration of the firm's business.

Mr. Phillips serves as the senior trial attorney. As such, he has tried more than 40 jury trials to verdict with emphasis on property, casualty and insurance defense and complex civil litigation matters.
